Blogger NEW Interface Debuts

Screenshot of Blogger NewBlogger has graced Inquiline with their new interface, and we couldn't be happier.

What's so new and fancy?
  • New design - some aesthetics are actually present on this one
  • Improved blog preview interface
  • Enhanced upload file interface
  • Publishing feedback info for status on what files were updated and when.
Things are looking good - and only gettin better.

A+ to the Blogger admin team!

Tungsten Software Resources

Tungsten | TPalmInfocenter Forums has a post with tons of great links to Palm OS resources and new software developments.

Sadly, there's more questions than answers, and nothing about software development is done quickly, it seems.

What the world needs now is some good Wireless News: TI Claims Bluetooth-Wi-Fi Breakthrough

Thursday, June 12, 2003

Oh - and if I ever find Pigeon Park by The Congress of Wonders, I promise to start an audio blog. Promise, "fruit boot".

What?!? a wireless blog, where do I get one of these??

Feedster support A++

Just had the most helpful conversation with Scott Johnson from Feedster who helped us straighten out our account, and explore the capabilities of Blogger's rss feeds. Boy, I can't say enough good stuff about how cool it is to have a developer right there to eyeball your account and help troubleshoot the linking system. Top marks go to Scott! Thanks!

What's Feedster and why's it on your site?
At the bottom of each post here, you'll see a line of links to resources we offer users browsing the site (in no particular order). You'll see the poster's name, the time of the post, a [+] icon which takes you to the permalink of a post (the page where the post will appear for all time), a comments recording engine, a Google search link, and Feedster! This last one is another sort of search engine, where you can search for other sites who publish syndication feeds for topics similar to the title of this very post. Just hover over the link and watch your status bar, see the title of this post there.

Feedster is a great place to search and browse what other weblogging users are saying about any topic - and that's all you really need to know, but if you're interest extends beyond that, they do offer more info about their service, and their blog is also a good place to start.

YiShow Backgrounds for Tungsten

Every so often, I obsess over something, and after installing YiShow on my Tungsten T, the obsession de jour turned to backgrounds. The other option, skins, seemed to be more tricky to get into, and I was having a hard time learning what icons corresponded to which functions anyway - so I didn't want to go changing them right away and end up confusing myself unduly.

So in the end, I've come up with a few collages of fantasy artwork that I'd pulled off a newsgroup. These are surely copywrited works of art, and I hope that my open sharing of their beauty in a derivative format won't ruffle the feathers of any artist who comes upon their work here. It's far more likely to only generate increased interest in the original works, in my view.

Click on a thumbnail to view the full 320x320 images, and proceed to save/transfer to a high-resolution Palm device running YiShow. Copy the images to the appropriate directory on your SD card, and you're in business. These backgrounds are slanted to a certain icon layout: two columns of small icons work best with these collections.

The Way To WiFI

Here's the path - the business fundamentals of a concrete organization as seen by Sky Daton - founder of EarthLink. His white paper on the wifi revolution was mentioned in a conversation at AO, and it's an excellent opening business case for getting into the Hot Spot Operator business today.

Actually, it provides the exact imformation that I'd been looking for, some crunches of the numbers to show how the revenue model actually pans out...
